SARS-CoV-2 RNA FISH

Our brand-new solution is designed as unique, precise and comprehensive composition of RNA-FISH probes combined with automated analysis equipment, allowing for the detection and quantification of the virus in samples.

The newly designed RNA-FISH probes use PixelBiotech's HuluFISH technique for enzymatically labeling oligonucleotide probes (oligos), enabling the SARS-CoV-2 mRNA detection at the single-cell and single-molecule level. Here, the HuluFISH approach is being used to enhance the fluorochrome density and thus, fluorescence intensity of the probes (HuluFISH PLUS). Our approach is user-friendly and time-saving, as no subsequent amplification or signal detection steps are required. HuluFISH PLUS probes are optimized for FFPE samples, using MetaSystems’ proven slide scanning platform Metafer for imaging and quantification.
The SARS-CoV-2 PLUS probe kit consists of 96 oligos detecting the spike glycoprotein mRNA of SARS-CoV-2 and a portion of the viral ORF1 mRNA. The probe kit can be used to specifically detect SARS-CoV-2 in fixed tissue samples, infected host cells, or spike protein-expressing cell lines. A probe kit visualizing the ACE2 mRNA (receptor of SARS-CoV-2) for simultaneous detection with the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein mRNA is also available.
MetaSystems’ automatic scanning platform Metafer provides all the flexibility needed for your RNA-FISH research. It performs image acquisition and analysis of your RNA FISH cell and tissue samples, yielding an unbiased, quantitative result. For high workload scenarios, an optional automated slide loader is available.
