As a prelude to the 43rd Annual meeting of ISHG in Hyderabad a satellite workshop on the application of FISH in clinical medicine was held. MetaSystems India was given the chance to showcase a cytogenetic workstation and probes.

MetaSystems Distributor Meeting 2017
Since 16 years, the MetaSystems Distributor Meeting (DM) is the annual get-together for all members of the global MetaSystems family. Staff of all MetaSystems offices, of partner companies, and of local sales organizations met in November 2017 to discuss the latest MetaSystems developments and achievements. The 2017 DM was held in the light of two major events, namely, (a) the launch of the first release version of Neon, the image and case database for all MetaSystems products and (b) the latest diversification on the field of microbiology applications.

Second MetaSystems Workshop in Dubai
MetaSystems held its second workshop in the Middle East this year between the 18th and 21st of February in Dubai, UAE. This time, in addition to a system demonstration, a probes workshop was also included. Over the course of two different workshops (one on the 18th/19th, one on the 20th/21st), 29 participants from 5 countries experienced the ease and quality of MetaSystems FISH probes, software, and hardware. Participants came from Pakistan, Iran, the UAE, Oman, and Lebanon.
MetaSystems on MedLab in Dubai
For the first time this year, MedLab in Dubai, the world’s largest laboratory exhibition and congress, took place separately from the ArabHealth. Being a leader in microscope based imaging, MetaSystems decided to attend this event in 2017 and to take advantage of direct contacts to regional sales representatives, partner companies, and customers. All companies of the MetaSystems family, namely MetaSystems, MetaSystems Probes, and for the first time MetaSystems Indigo were present at the booth and provided latest news on their respective products and innovations.

European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG)
The ESHG will be taking the first step for (hopefully) the next 50 years and delivering a conference showcasing the latest findings in the field of human genetics, both basic and applied. The conference is held in conjunction with the European Meeting on the Psychosocial Aspects of Genetics, emphasising the multidisciplinary and international remit of the Society.
MetaSystems Middle East Workshop 2018 in Dubai
MetaSystems and MetaSystems Probes have performed a workshop with exercises in classical FISH hybridization, short time hybridization, RapidScore analysis with Metafer and imaging with Isis. The workshop was done in two groups from Feb. 02 to Feb. 05 in Dubai. UAE.
US & Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP)
The Academy has received 3,266 abstracts, with top research destined for platform and poster sessions. Dr. Stanley Hamilton of MD Anderson Cancer Center will deliver the Maude Abbott Lecture on “The Pathologist and Individualized Cancer Therapy,” and Dr. H. Gilbert Welch of The Dartmouth Institute will discuss “Overdiagnosis and Cancer Screening: Challenges Posed by Birds, Rabbits and Turtles” for the Timely Topics lecture. The Generation U party is a celebration of our profession and USCAP’s expression of appreciation for attending the meeting.
